Harvard University, Howard University and Essex all have one thing in common: Sam Bennett.
The 110m Hurdler hails from Basildon but moved across the pond to study Economics with a secondary in Psychology. After four years in Massachusetts, Bennett moved his trade to Howard and Texas Tech but it is on the athletics track where he shines strongest.
A former junior standout, Bennett won gold at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games and the 2018 European Under-18 Championships before moving to the US.
And with a return to home soil, Bennett overcame a PCL injury to win his maiden British outdoors title in the men's 110m hurdles in 2026.
That helped secure his Commonwealth Games debut for Team England at Glasgow 2026, where he clinched 110m hurdles silver.
