Poppy Maskill’s rapid rise through the ranks in the pool shows no sign of slowing down as she heads towards Birmingham 2022.

Maskill burst onto the scene in 2022 with a maiden international title at the Para Swimming World Series in Aberdeen, claiming victory in the MC 100m butterfly.

The Cheshire youngster was the highest-ranked in the county at under-12 level and has also earned her spurs as an open water swimmer, competing in the Swim England National Open Water Festival.

The first time Poppy made the newspaper was surprisingly not through her swimming ability. Aged nine, she chosen as the annual Middlewich Rose Fete's 'Rose Queen', given the honour of opening the local prestigious folk and boat festival.
