Poppy Maskill returns for her second Commonwealth Games having conquered all before her since her debut at Birmingham 2022.

The S14 swimmer finished fourth in the 200m freestyle in her first Games, as she was narrowly edged out by teammates Louise Fiddes and Jessica-Jane Applegate.

But Maskill has since risen to the top of her classification, sweeping a stunning five medals - three of them gold - at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Maskill set a world record en route to S14 100m butterfly gold, before adding 100m backstroke and 4x100m titles.

She also earned a hat-trick of individual world titles in 2025, coming in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, underlining her impressive versatility.

Maskill was named an MBE in the 2025 New Years Honours, and was also awarded the Freedom of Middlewich, her hometown.
