Podcast host Phil Roper did his talking on the pitch as the forward helped fire Team England to bronze at Birmingham 2022.

Roper became one of the small club that has been a part of the past three Commonwealth Games sides, all of whom have come home with a bronze medal.

The 31-year-old struck eight times in Birmingham to take his Commonwealth total to 11 across three Games.

Roper's passion for hockey has evolved from a young age, having joined Chester Hockey Club as an eight-year-old, staying there for ten years before departing for university and Sheffield Hockey Club.

The forward recently returned to the UK after a spell in the Netherlands with Oranje-Rood.
