Oliver Wood soared to a stunning silver medal in the men's team pursuit at Birmingham 2022.

Alongside teammates Charlie Tanfield, Ethan Vernon and Dan Bigham, the track cyclist picked up a dramatic second place behind New Zealand.

Wood was part of England’s silver medal-winning team pursuit squad on the Gold Coast four years ago.

A versatile member of British cycling men’s endurance teams, he was inspired by his dad to take up the sport.

And was accepted onto the Olympic Development Programme in 2011 before graduating onto the Academy, making his World Cup debut at only 18.

The 26-year-old has years of experience on both the road and track and has ridden for British UCI Continental cycling team WiV SunGod since 2019.

His fine performances saw him selected in the Team GB team pursuit team for Tokyo 2020.
