Matthew Redfern ensured it would be a memorable Commonwealth Games debut for Team England in 2026 as he claimed a bronze medal.
The S13 swimmer finished third in the men's 100m freestyle on Day 1 in Glasgow.
Redfern headed to the Games alongside younger sister Becky, having made his Paralympic bow at Paris 2024.
The Droitwich swimmer came out of retirement in 2022 to be part of the visually-impaired relay squad and competed at his first individual event at the World Championships a year later.
A hardcore Kidderminster Harriers football fan, Redfern works as a senior operations analyst at a hospitality intelligence company in Worcester away from the pool.
