Mark Swan earned the first gold medal of Glasgow 2026 with an imperious performance in the men's lightweight competition.
Swan upgraded his silver from Birmingham 2022 with a best lift of 222kg.
He also boasts 65kg silver at the Paris 2024 Paralympics but always had eyes on gold in Glasgow.
His success at senior level followed an impressive junior career, where he won gold at the Dubai World Cup in 2021, smashing his own European junior record in the process.
Swan is an avid outdoorsman who likes to unwind with a fishing pole in hand and a tent nearby.
