Louise Sugden

Para powerlifting

Louise Sugden is a star across two sports, having won gold for Great Britain's wheelchair basketball team at the 2011 Para World Cup.

She represented Great Britain at the 2008 BeijingParalympics and again at London 2012 before making the switch to para-powerlifting.

And the 37-year-old has not looked back since her wheelchair basketball retirement in 2017

Sugden won't be competing at her first Commonwealth Games, having won silver on Australia's Gold Coast back in 2018 in the heavyweight category.

At 86kg, she picked up bronze during the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

But now, the world number four will be looking to go a step further and pick up gold in Birmingham.
