Liam Ansell made his debut for England in March 2017 and a year later he helped his country to a Commonwealth Games bronze medal on the Gold Coast.

Four years later in Birmingham, Ansell would star again for Team England, winning his second Commonwealth Games bronze medal at Birmingham 2022.

The forward, who is partial to a game of corridor cricket with housemates Chris Griffiths and Giselle Ansley, relishes the big stage, scoring four times at the Tokyo Olympics last summer.

The 28-year-old represents Wimbledon HC and is capable of stunning finishes, as his wonder strike against Ireland to qualify for the 2018 World Cup knockout stages can attest.

It was ecstasy for the women’s team who took home the title for the first time in history.
