Jessica Gordon-Brown wowed the crowd with her big lifts and even bigger backflips on her way to a silver medal at Birmingham 2022.

Gordon-Brown clinched second in the women's -59kg category, to earn the first medal of her rapid ascent through the weightlifting ranks and celebrated with a now-iconic backflip.

The 26-year-old only tried the sport in her final year studying Sport Product Design at Brighton University, having previously tried her hand at gymnastics and judo.

But the Harefield native has not looked back since, winning her weight category on debut at the British University Championships before winning her first national senior title in 2021.

International debut came in the form of a 12th-placed finish at the World Championships, before being roared onto Commonwealth success by the home crowd in Birmingham.
