With a season best to her name, it was fourth place for Jazmin Sawyers in Birmingham.

The long jumper soared to 6.84m with a stunning first jump, finishing 10cm off a medal.

Sawyers’ cabinet is brimming with a collection of junior and senior medals on the international stage, as well as two British championships in the women’s long jump. 

The 28-year-old, who took home Commonwealth silver at Glasgow 2014, also has two Olympic finals on her impressive resume - the most recent coming in Tokyo where she finished eighth. 

Her talents away from track and field saw her appear on ITV’s The Voice in 2017. 

At the 2023 European Indoor Championships, Sawyers finally clinched the gold she'd dreamt off. With an incredible jump of 7m, a new personal best and a personal record of hers, the long jumper grabbed her first gold in 14 major appearances.
