Defender James Albery’s dream came true when he first captained England against India in April and he would go on to star for his country as they secured bronze on home soil in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 26-year-old, who was head boy at The Leys School in Cambridge, made his senior international debut in 2017 after consistently representing his country at age group level since he turned 14. 

The Hockey Writers’ Club Junior Player of the Year in 2011 currently plays club hockey for Old Georgian’s after previously turning out for Cambridge City and Beeston.
