On her Commonwealth Games debut in 2022, Jade O’Dowda stormed to a bronze medal for her first major senior international podium.
Clinching a total of 6,212 points in the heptathlon, it marked an incredible result for the Oxford athlete.
That same season, she finished seventh at the European Championships, a performance she went on to repeat at the 2024 edition of the competition in Rome. O’Dowda is the latest in England’s production line of great female heptathletes, and was even trained by Jessica Ennis-Hill’s former coach Toni Minichiello.
She comes from a gifted sporting household, as brother Callum has made over 300 appearances in the Football League, as well as 32 for the Republic of Ireland.
