Imani-Lara Lansiquot is not just a sprinting star, she is a psychology graduate and playwright who was named after a cricketer.
Early in her career, Lansiquot had to settle for fourth at both the World U20 and European U23 level.
But on the senior stage, she soon saw success, helping Great Britain to 4x100m relay gold at the 2018 European Championships.
Silver followed in the same event at the World Championships in 2019, before representing Team England for the first time, as the women's relay team won gold on home soil at Birmingham 2022.
At two Olympic Games, Lansiquot has won relay bronze and silver, and it was during Tokyo 2020 that she put pen to paper.
The Peckham native wrote the play ‘Armour of Gaza’ about growing up in South London, as she chased her childhood dual dreams of being an Olympic champion and an author.
Lansiquot is one of four British women to run under 11 seconds for the 100m, with fellow Team England sprinters Dina Asher-Smith, Daryll Neita and Amy Hunt joining her in the exclusive club.
The second part of her name, Lara, is homage to cricketer Brian Lara.
