Versatile hockey midfielder Holly Hunt made her breakthrough in Birmingham, ending the Games with a gold medal.

Hunt scored the first goal in Team England's 2-1 win over Australia to secure the Commonwealth title as England made history with their first gold in hockey at the Games.

It marked a welcome return to the Second City, where Hunt had studied at the University of Birmingham.

Making her England debut in February 2022 in the FIH Pro League, Hunt picked up Under-18 European bronze in 2015 and a medal of the same colour at the Under-21 event in 2014 and 2017.
