An age group national champion, Freya Patel-Redfearn has long been earmarked as a rising star on the badminton court. 

The West London native was a dominant force at youth level and won three medals at a single English Championships back in 2016. 

The early signs are that Patel-Redfearn can maintain that momentum in the senior ranks. 

She won two games at her maiden European Championships in April 2021 and made her BWF World Tour bow in the same season, now getting her chance to shine at a home Games.

At the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Patel-Redfern reached the third round of the women's singles, losing out to Singapore's Yeo Jia Min.
