In just six years, Emily Sweeney has gone from cross-fit to the Commonwealth Games.

Having taken up cross-fit at the age of 12, her ascension to the top of weightlifting in England has been remarkable.

The English under-17 Champion has had immense success at junior level, picking up the SBD Young Weightlifter of the Year Award in 2020 and finishing sixth in the 2020 IWF Youth VR World Cup and at the 2019 European Youth Championship.

She may only be 18, but Sweeney has a huge future ahead of her, starting with a Commonwealth Games on home soil this summer.
