Declan James

Squash

Declan James, also known as ‘The Dark Knight’, is a proven performer at squash’s highest level and the Commonwealth Games.

The Nottingham native gets his nickname from the Marvel series’ multiple links to the region; including the East Midlands town of Gotham and filming locations in the area.

He wears a Batman-style logo on much of his training wear.

James won doubles bronze alongside James Willstrop on the Gold Coast, beaten by team-mates Daryl Selby and Adrian Waller in the semi-finals.

Some of the best moments of James’ career so far have come on home soil, including his first two World Tour titles that were won in his home city.
