After weightlifter Cyrille Tchatchet II last competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, he found himself homeless for two months.
This time he returns as a Team England athlete ready for silverware.
Cameroon-born Tchatchet II moved to the UK after defecting from the Cameroon team at Glasgow 2014, and he spent two months homeless in Brighton before moving to the West Midlands.
He obtained refugee status in 2016 and competed for the Refugee Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics whilst working as a mental health nurse.
An Olympian, a four-time British champion, and 2023 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship gold medallist, he has come a long way since discovering the sport by chance 16 years ago.
Tchatchet II narrowly missed out on a medal for Team England at Birmingham 2022 and despite retiring two years ago, announced that he would make the ultimate comeback for Glasgow 2026.
