Alia Leat headed to Glasgow for her first taste of Commonwealth Games action just four months after defending her balance beam title at the British Championships.

The 21-year-old first won the title in 2025 as well as taking gold in the all-around final that year too.

Four golds at the Luxembourg Open in the team event, all-around, balance beam and floor exercise in April highlighted the great form Leat was in as she aimed to kick on from her last major games – the 2025 World Championships – in which she finished 38th in the balance beam.

And she helped Team England claim silver on Day 2 in Glasgow in the team competition.

Having taken a two-year break from the sport, Leat returned in February 2025 at the Welsh Championships placing third in the all-around open competition.
