Abderrahim Taghrest was one of the youngest Team England athletes to medal at the Birmingham 2022 Games as he and his sport wheelchair basketball made their Games debut.

Taghrest won bronze in the men's wheelchair basketball competition continuing his fruitful partnership with Charlie McIntyre after they had won gold at the 3X3 Wheelchair Basketball School Games in 2021.

That final against the undefeated London North was one of the highest-scoring games in Loughborough with the 15-9 result marking the highlight of the 19-year-old's career to date.

An exciting, action-packed, smaller format of the 5x5 game, 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball made history in Birmingham when the sport made its Commonwealth Games debut.
