Thomas Young and Sophie Hahn produced a stunning 100m T38 double gold as the athletics got off to a golden start for Team England, capping a night which saw five track and field medals won.
It was also a golden evening in the pool for Brock Whiston, who won the women’s 100m SB8 breaststroke final, while on the floor, Luke Whitehouse added to his medal tally with a brilliant gold while Abi Martin took vault silver.
Chris Murray had to settle for a hard-fought bronze in the men’s 79kg weightlifting, as did Adam Ramsay-Peaty in the men’s 50m breaststroke. But there will be more medals coming tomorrow with three semi-final victories in the bowls.

What’s on tomorrow?
Tomorrow is the second day of athletics where more medals will be up for grabs, with Morgan Lake going in the high jump and Amy Hunt and Imani Lansiquot targeting 100m glory.
Luke Whitehouse and Abi Martin will look to follow up on their medals today as they compete in the men’s vault and women’s floor respectively.
And there are three guaranteed bowls medals on offer, with England in the finals of the men’s singles, women’s pairs and mixed B2-B3 pairs.
