Team England will look to add to their impressive medal haul on day two of the Commonwealth Youth Games. 

The action commences in rugby 7s, tennis, swimming and boxing with the whole team taking great confidence from a successful opening day which saw four golds and a bronze secured.

Competition begins in the pool with Team England hoping to book as many places as possible in the evening’s finals. 

A strong swimming squad will be hoping to add the medals won in the judo and maintain England’s place at the top of the medal table.

Peter Allam will begin his men’s singles campaign in the tennis. 

His mixed doubles partner Indiana Spink received a bye in the first round so will have to wait until Thursday to get her first experience at a multi-sport games.

The Rugby 7s team have three matches in total on day two. Samoa will provide the opening opposition in the tournament with games against Canada and the home side Bahamas to follow. 

Three wins would all but confirm a medal match later in the week.

Ivan Hope Price is the first English boxer to take to the ring in the light flyweight division against John Casey of Scotland.  

Ivan will be followed by Benjamin Vaughan and Mark Dickinson at light welter and welterweight respectively. 

The evening session will see England’s bantamweight hope Shiloh Defreitas take on Justin Parris of Trinidad and Tobago.
