Matt Richardson has been ruled out of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Richardson suffered an injury while racing in Japan earlier this week, forcing him to withdraw Saturday's individual sprint competition.
He will be replaced by 21-year-old Harry Radford, who was part of the British team that won team sprint silver earlier this year.
Richardson had been set to make his Team England debut at Glasgow 2026, having competed at Birmingham 2022 for Australia.
In Birmingham, Richardson won individual and team sprint golds with friends and family in the UK cheering him on, and had been set to defend his individual title in Glasgow
Richardson was born in Maidstone and opted to represent the nation of his birth in 2024.
He has gone on to win a pair of world silver medals in British colours, alongside two European titles and had previously expressed his excitement about pulling on the Team England jersey for the first time.
“The Commonwealth Games are so special because it's the only time that I get to represent England once every four years," he said ahead of Glasgow 2026.
