Commonwealth Games England (CGE) can confirm that after three and a half years in post and following on from the conclusion of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, Mark Osikoya will be leaving his role as Chief Executive Officer on 31st October 2026. Mark joined CGE as Chief Executive in March 2023 and has led the organisation through an important period for Team England and the wider Commonwealth Games movement.
During his time as Chief Executive, Mark has worked closely with the Board, staff, sports and partners to lead the organisation and represent CGE and Team England across the sporting landscape. He has also played an important role in developing CGE’s relationships with key stakeholders and supporting the organisation as it has looked ahead to future Games and opportunities for Team England. This work included his recent leadership of the organisation into Glasgow 2026, where Team England finished second in the medal table with 110 medals.
The Board would like to thank Mark for his leadership, commitment and contribution to Commonwealth Games England during his time as Chief Executive, and we wish him every success for the future.
CGE remains focused on its preparations for the next Commonwealth Games in 2027 and 2030 and on ensuring Team England’s athletes and sports have the support and environment they need to perform at their best.
Further information on CGE’s future leadership arrangements will be shared in due course.
