Leading is hard. Modern leaders are more visible, accountable and under greater scrutiny than ever before. They are constantly being asked to do more with less, solving complex problems, creating lasting change and developing their people. Team England helps its partners solve problems like this through our network of professionals.

On 8th June, Pete Lindsey, performance psychologist for the premier league and cofounder of Mindflick, spoke to Shakespeare Martineau’s learning and development programme which is delivered to some of SM’s potential future leaders.

The session explored the topic of “What really drives our behaviour”, exploring the power of context and the environment in influencing ourselves and others.

Delivered over the course of an hour, the session included videos, audience participation and reference to core theories and experiments from social psychology.

Shakespeare Martineau’s Learning and Development Partner Jay Lutwyche said “We were impressed with Pete’s relaxed and informal style and employees found the content fascinating, we will definitely have Pete back for another, longer session”

Team England stars enjoy a day with CGE partner Shakespeare Martineau

Earlier this month, Shakespeare Martineau’s annual partner conference saw Professor Greg Whyte, Dame Kelly Holmes and Alex Danson all feature to provide valuable insight to the law firm’s staff.

Professor Greg Whyte, performance director at the Glasgow Games and renowned for his work with Sport Relief, gave a talk to the Shakespeare Martineau team, inspiring a more active life. Greg will be an ambassador for the firm and encourage staff as the firm attempts to walk the equivalent 10,300 miles to the Gold Coast.

The day also saw England hockey star Alex Danson make an appearance, via Skype due to an injury, and previous Commonwealth Games England President and Commonwealth and Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes recount her story as part of an inspiring ‘Power Hour’.  Shakespeare Martineau’s Nick Evans who then led a Q&A with Kelly and Greg and rounded of the event with a Commonwealth Games quiz, loved by all and left us impressed with our partner’s knowledge of the Team and the Games!
