Commonwealth Games England chairman Ian Metcalfe has been appointed to the Executive Board Commonwealth Games Federation as a Birmingham 2022 representative.

Metcalfe succeeds former Commonwealth Games Australia President Sam Coffa, who was a member of the CGF Executive Board in the build-up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

He will remain on the CGF’s board as a Commonwealth Games Host City representative until after the conclusion of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Metcalfe was appointed as CGE’s chairman in 2014 having formerly been the chairman of the Rugby Professional Game Board in England.
