TONBRIDGE CASTLE PROVIDED THE IDEAL BACKDROP AS THE QUEEN'S BATON ARRIVED IN KENT ON DAY SIX OF THE QBR

It was an early start for Dame Kelly Holmes, Lizzy Yarnold and the other Batonbearers this morning as the action got underway from 8am at the picturesque Tonbridge Castle.

But it was well worth the effort as the crowds and the sunshine came out to welcome them to Kent. There was even a chance to get active during a mass outdoor fitness work out.

Sports minister Helen Grant joined the Batonbearers before the relay moved on to a series of events involving local schools to spread the message of the Commonwelath Games.
