Team England has announced its cycling and para cycling squads for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with a 25-strong line-up set to compete at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
The star-studded squad contains 11 previous Commonwealth Games medallists and 14 debutants as part of an exciting blend of youth and experience that will take to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome this summer.
Among the headline names is two-time Commonwealth champion Matthew Richardson, who will make his Team England debut in Glasgow. He will target a successful defence of his individual and team sprint titles won at Birmingham 2022.
Richardson said: “I’m proud to be representing England for the first time at my second Commonwealth Games. I’m so excited to get out there and race for the team and hopefully bring back another gold medal to add to the collection.”

Richardson is joined in a strong men’s sprint group by Olympic silver medallist Hamish Turnbull and Joe Truman, both of whom claimed team sprint silver at the previous Games. Debutant Harry Ledingham-Horn completes the line-up.
On the para cycling front, four-time Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox is set for her long-awaited Commonwealth Games debut, having previously missed the event through injury and ineligibility.
Cox said: “I’m super excited to finally be heading to my first Commonwealth Games after missing the last few through injury. I’ll be so so proud to pull on my England jersey and be able to represent so close to home where my family can come and also enjoy the moment. Brits are the best fans, and I know they’re going to come out in force.” She is part of a seven-strong para squad that also includes two-time Paralympic champion Sophie Unwin, who returns for her second Commonwealth Games alongside pilot Sylvia Misztal.
Reigning Paralympic champion Lizzi Jordan will also make her Commonwealth debut with pilot Danni Khan, while Paralympic bronze medallist Matt Robertson and three-time world medallist Morgan Newberry add further pedigree to a squad bolstered by the expansion of para cycling events.
In the women’s sprint programme, reigning Olympic champions Sophie Capewell and Katy Marchant headline a world-class group. The pair were key members of the team sprint gold medal-winning squad at Paris 2024.

Capewell, who won keirin silver and 500m time trial bronze at Birmingham 2022, returns with a full set of medals in her sights. Marchant, a Gold Coast 2018 team sprint bronze medallist, makes her second Commonwealth appearance after missing Birmingham 2022 due to pregnancy.
They are joined by world and European silver medallist Rhianna Parris-Smith and five-time European junior champion Georgette Rand.
In the men’s endurance squad, Charlie Tanfield returns for a third Games appearance, aiming to add to his collection of one gold and two silver medals. He is joined again by Ethan Vernon, who was part of the team pursuit silver medal effort alongside Tanfield at both Birmingham 2022 and the 2024 Olympic Games.
The squad also includes current individual pursuit world champion Josh Charlton, 2023 scratch race world champion Will Tidball, and three-time junior world champion Henry Hobbs, all set for their Commonwealth debuts.
The women’s endurance squad features returning team pursuit bronze medallists from Birmingham 2022, including Josie Knight, Maddie Leech and Sophie Lewis. Knight, a two-time world champion, set a new individual pursuit world record in February 2026, while Leech arrives as reigning madison world champion. They are joined by Grace Lister, who returns for her second Team England appearance, and debutant Abi Miller.
Team England Chef de Mission Team England Jonathon Riall said: “It is brilliant to be able to announce our cycling and para cycling squads, which are filled with some of the sports’ biggest names.”
“That so many global medallists have chosen to represent Team England is testament to the stature of the Commonwealth Games. The squads also contain a number of exciting young talents making their Team England debuts, as the Games continues its proud record of providing a platform to the next generation.”
Performance Director for the Great Britian Cycling Team, Stephen Park CBE said: “Representing Team England at the Commonwealth Games is always a unique experience for our team, as the squad blends world-class experience with up-and-coming talent, which makes for a very exciting mix.”
“This event provides a special opportunity for our 14 debutants to get their first experience on the world stage, while being exposed to a huge learning opportunity alongside veterans of the sport. It’s also a rare chance for our track and para-track squads to compete together and with the para-cycling schedule extended to include C-class races, offers even more of a spectacle for those joining us in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome or watching at home. It’s one not to miss!”
