John Steele OBE, Chair of Commonwealth Games England, said: “ This an exciting and challenging time for Commonwealth Sport. We are in the final countdown to the Games in Glasgow this summer, and then we enter our centenary cycle, culminating in the Amdavad Games in India in 2030. We need to be at our absolute best and that includes in the Boardroom. So I’m delighted to welcome Tim with his wealth of Executive and Non-Executive leadership experience in sport, that will benefit Team England in so many different ways.”

From 2018 to 2025, Tim served as Chief Executive of Sport England, the Government agency responsible for growing grassroots and community sport and physical activity. Prior to that, he spent seven years as Chief Executive of the British Paralympic Association, overseeing record medal performances at the Rio 2016 and PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Games. Earlier in his career, Tim held senior roles at UK Sport, including Director of Policy & Communications and Chief Operating Officer.

Tim also served as the UK Government’s Disability & Access Ambassador for Sport and Physical Activity from 2022–2026 and has held multiple trustee and board positions across the sport and education sectors. He was awarded an OBE in 2016 for services to sport.

Tim Hollingsworth OBE said: "I am honoured to have been appointed to the Commonwealth Games Board.   The Commonwealth movement is a special one and Team England a wonderful example of the strength and diversity of our nation at its best.   Having already been so involved in a Games in Birmingham four years ago, and also attended Glasgow 2014, I look forward to playing my part in ensuring the future success and sustainability of Commonwealth Games England not just for the upcoming Glasgow Games but through to Amdavad 2030 and beyond."

Tim’s leadership and experience will play a key role in shaping a resilient, inclusive and sustainable future for Team England.
