CGE has announced that, following an extensive recruitment programme, it has appointed a new Chief Executive and a Sports Director.

Adam Paker will join as Chief Executive Officer on 3 October 2011. Adam, a former director within FIFA’s Marketing & TV department, is currently a sports marketing consultant working on various high profile projects including the review and overhaul of Saudi football. Adam, an Oxford and INSEAD graduate, has also worked extensively in commercial sport, most recently advising a number of leading brands on their Olympic sponsorships.

Don Parker, who has been working with CGE since 1997, will equally take up his new responsibilities on the same date. Don’s previous roles include Deputy Technical Director at the British Olympic Association (BOA) and Performance Director at the English Table Tennis Association.

Adam and Don will be working closely with the CGE board and a wide range of National Governing Bodies of Sport to increase influence internationally and domestically; build the new ‘We are England’ brand to secure long term commercial income and ultimately ensure CGE is best positioned to enable English athletes to realise their ambition.

Both Adam and Don will be attending the Commonwealth Youth Games on the Isle of Man in September.
