With the new year now upon us, 2020 promises to be another spectacular year of high- calibre sporting moments.

Stacked with events throughout the year, Team England’s athletes will be taking centre stage across the next 12 months as competitions come thick and fast from the off.

Kicking off the new decade is the Nations Cup in January (19-26), where England’s Commonwealth gold medal-winning Roses set the ball rolling before the British Diving Championships (24-26) and the Para-cycling World track Championships (30-2) round off the month.

March will see Birmingham come to fore when the 2022 Commonwealth Games host city stages the All England Open Badminton Championships (11-15) and the Gymnastics World Cup (28).

But undoubtedly the highlight of the sporting year will arrive in the summer when Tokyo hosts  the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Team England’s brightest talents including the likes of Dina Asher-Smith, Adam Peaty and Jade Jones-Hall will be in action from July through till September in front of a global audience as they seek to claim Olympic and Paralympic silverware.

With so much to look forward to from lawn bowls to wrestling and athletics to table tennis, 2020 is set to be one to savour for Team England.
