Max Gregory made his debut at the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow 2026, but already had plenty of experience of success at multisport competition.

He is a Commonwealth Junior Champion and has experience coaching Chirs Skelley to Paralympic gold at Tokyo 2021 as his main trainer.

That year he also won his first senior international medal with bronze at the Dubrovnik European Cup, which saw him named Junior Male Athlete of the Year at the 2021 British Judo Awards.

Since then, Gregory has continued to challenge on the European stage, adding to his medal tally with bronze medals at the 2023 Riga European Cup, 2024 Rome European Open and 2025 Podgorica European Cup.

And he continued his rise ahead of a trip to Glasgow with a silver medal at the 2025 European Open in Tallinn.

At Glasgow 2026 he won a silver in the -100kg category.

The three-day Judo bonanza kicked off with Team England success in the form of a gold medal for Ashley McKenzie who came out on top in an all-English final against Sam Hall in the 60kg competition.
