Ben Levy might have made his Commonwealth Games debut at Glasgow 2026, but he had already made waves in the judo world.
Levy was born in Paris but moved to London at a young age, and trained at the prestigious Budokwai.
After a successful junior career, which saw him win the 2025 Junior European Cup in Berlin, Levy announced himself on the senior stage.
He became the 2025 British Senior Champion before shocking the judo community by winning bronze at the 2026 Paris Grand Slam, one of the most illustrious events on the IJF World Tour.
It was Levy’s first experience competing in a Grand Slam, and he made a similar impact at Glasgow 2026 by taking silver in the -73kg class.
Alongside his judo career, Levy studies at the University of Birmingham.
